Candlestick Stats: how often a stock closes green

Some stocks close green day after day; others fade almost every session. Candlestick Stats counts, for every U.S. and Canadian stock over the last 14, 30, 90, 180 or 365 days, the share of green days (a close above the open), red days, and closes above or below the previous close.

It shows you which stocks buyers keep pushing up through the day and which ones they sell into, beyond what the overall performance tells you.

Questions

What is a green day?

A session that closes above its open. A red day closes below its open.

What is the difference between green days and up closes?

A green day compares the close with that day's open. An up close compares it with the previous day's close. A stock can gap up, fade all day and still close up.

Can I hide stocks that crashed?

Yes. A filter leaves out the stocks that also appear in the Dips & Crashes scanner for the same period.

How often is it updated?

Every trading day, overnight after the close.
